Dan Kreider, former Steelers fullback extraordinaire, has signed with another NFL team. Three guesses as to where he went...as if you need three...
That's right, he's taken the path of many former Steelers and will be suiting up this fall for Pittsburgh West, aka the Arizona Cardinals. Kreider and all the other blocking fullbacks around the league are going the way of the dinosaur, with teams like the Steelers using more two and three-tight end sets in running situations. Best of luck to you Mr. Kreider, I know PWHallstrom will be rooting for you.
In other NFL news, Jay Cutler was traded to the Bears. He's a bitch. Chicago gave up way too much for a bitch. That's all I'll say about that situation.

I already ordered my first NFL jersey, for the best player in NFL history.
ReplyDeleteChicago is crazy, that wasn't the problem, aside from injuries.
Detroit Lions...take a QB w/ some potential and lose your next 2 #1 picks, ( more than likely the next 2 years ) + some OOOOR pray to me you draft a #1 QB and utilize the remaining picks on the top D...
I am also a Kreider fan and feel players like him are under utilized in the NFL. There will never be a 2000 yd rusher again without the use of a solid fullback. I wish him the best in Arizona and bet he has at least 2 receiving TDs because no one will cover him on the goalline. Tim Hightower should have a huge year in 2009 now!
ReplyDeleteAs a fantasy football powerhouse, known to many as Superbowl or Bust, i am slightly intrigued in this signing. I am a big Hightower fan and have been ridiculed beyond belief for it. Unfortunately my team is loaded with talent with the likes of Drew Brees, Brandon Jacobs, Steven Jackson, and Larry Fitzgerald so i will be unable to retain him in our keeper league. Kreider got a raw deal in Pittsburgh when Tomlin took over, good luck to him from all of us at BLB.
ReplyDeletefantasy football powerhouses do not lose in the first round.
ReplyDeletei know i'm opening up myself to the obvious "at least i made the playoffs" rebuttal, but i compare myself to the mighty new england patriots. both teams had an injured tom brady, were feared around the league, and barely missed the playoffs. look out in 2009.
and you also forgot to list jay cutler among your stars.
also wanted to point out that dan kreider did wonders for the st louis rams rushing attack last year.
ReplyDeleteAhem...you didnt even draft Brady you traded for an INJURED Brady thats brilliant. Pulled some bullshit trade with one of your friends for Warner after numerous suicide attempts because your team was terrible. Know that you mention it fuck Dan Kreider if he would block someone Steven Jackson would have been a steal with the 2nd overall pick. Jay Cutler is dead to me.
ReplyDeleteKreider = Giant piece of shit.
ReplyDeleteTom, I can't believe you like this guy - you're usually all over the yinzer mentality. Dan the Man is a nobody for a good reason.
i didn't say i liked the guy...just wanted to give props to a dying breed in the nfl. a lot of good fullbacks in the history of the nfl and to quote the great jaromir jagr, they are now "dying alive." i also like to make it known that his "replacement" carey davis is a waste of a roster spot.
ReplyDeletehad i traded for brady in a non-keeper league, my franchise ownership should have been revoked on the spot. like your pittsburgh pirates, i was building for the future.
