"They are who we thought they wereN'T"

Every human being is confronted with disappointment on a daily basis. It's how people choose to deal with these issues that make them the people they become. Disappointment comes in many forms...

Your favorite team loses to a lesser opponent...Your parents tell you "It isn't your fault...""Your favorite television star decides he'd rather play doctor with the same sex...
You realize elves don't make toys (children in China do), rabbits don't bring chocolate (only rabies), and the only people that collect teeth in exchange for money should be locked in insane asylums...
The man who you look to for religious guidance has been using the money you and the rest of his "followers" donated to his "church" for methamphetamines and gay sex...
You realize that most of young America has no taste in music whatsoever...
Your hero thinks that helmets are for pussies...

But in reality, nothing hurts more than thinking you know someone, but in reality they turn out to be everything you've set out to destroy. It's like having a free-spirited friend who drops acid with you moments after voting for Obama, but then up and leaves to spearhead a KKK rally. Closedmindedness. It's not a word, but it should be. And it's a way of life for millions of people worldwide. It's a plague that causes conflict every day. Open your minds people. There are people everywhere with opinions that differ from your own. You may not agree with them, but to not acknowledge them is criminal. Everything is not in black and white, there's plenty of gray in between.
